Low Profile Ceiling Fans
Low profile ceiling fans are those that sit closer to the ceiling than most other traditional ceiling fans. Whilst often referred to as hugger or flush mount ceiling fans, some low profile ceiling fans are also available on shorter downrods, and have light kit attachments that don’t add any further height to the ceiling fan (such as the Orion ceiling fan). A standard house build will see ceiling heights of 2.4 metres, and for optimal efficiency and airflow, a ceiling fan needs to be installed no lower than 2.1 metres from the floor to the bottom of the ceiling fan. A low profile ceiling fan is a good option for customers that do not have a lot of height to work with.
Included in this range is the Sycamore ceiling fan, winner of the Good Design Award in 2005. The Sycamore is known and loved for its whisper quiet operation, natural breeze effect, energy efficiency and its beautifully sculpted, organic form.
