Other Available Colours
In 1997, The Modern Fan Company was founded by Ron Rezek to produce ceiling fans that provide superior air circulation, comfort and energy efficiency for contemporary-minded homeowners and design professionals. Having originated the contemporary ceiling fan genre, The Modern Fan Company remains the only company of its kind, committed exclusively to modern ceiling fan design.
A Self-Learning function works off a radio frequency and means that the remote handpiece can be programmed wirelessly to the remote receiver, rather than implementing the use of dip switches. Simply hold down the stop button immediately after the ceiling fan has been switched on at the isolation switch, and the remote receiver (located in the canopy) will pick up the code being transmitted by the handpiece.
Veneer refers to thin slices of wood, usually less than 3 mm in thickness, that are then glued together to create a blade. This gives the warmth and feel of solid timber, without the expense, and also allows for a new range of blade colour options (beyond painted plywood).
Die Cast Aluminium
Die casting refers to a metal casting process that is characterised by forcing molten metal under high pressure into a mould cavity. Aluminium castings are lightweight and able to withstand the highest operating temperatures of all die cast alloys. Aluminium has many advantages over common steel, such as being corrosion resistant, having a great strength-to-weight ratio and excellent finishing characteristics.
Blade Sweep Diameter
Sweep diameter refers to the overall distance end to end when a ceiling fan is in operation (or from blade tip to blade tip when referring to a four bladed ceiling fan).
Your Iconic Fan Company or The Modern Fan Company ceiling fan (excluding accessories such as the Remote Control Transmitter and Receiver, Accessory Light Kit & Wall Control) is covered by a three year on-site warranty. Remote Control Receiver and Transmitters (Handsets), Accessory Light Kits (integrated or externally mounted) and Wall Controls are covered by a one year on-site warranty. No further warranty is offered on these items after the one year period.
Warranty claims are considered on a case by case basis, and are determinant upon the terms and conditions as outlined on our Warranty Procedures page. All ceiling fans must be installed by a licensed electrician, and fans should not be removed or serviced prior to contacting EID Fans, as this may void your warranty.
In the event of a manufacturing defect (material or workmanship), EID Fans will provide a repair or replacement for any product considered to be defective, as per Australian Consumer Law standards. As a gesture of goodwill, EID Fans will also provide a $100.00 compensation fee for your electrician. We advise obtaining a quote from your electrician prior to making arrangements to replace your faulty ceiling fan. All faulty ceiling fans will be returned to EID Fans and tested prior to a compensation fee being given. Any goods returned that we deem to be an installation error and not in fact a manufacturing defect (material or workmanship) will not be met with a compensation fee.
Please note, we accept change of mind returns within 30 days of receipt of your purchase, based on the conditions listed in our Returns Policy.
